Training

The following Microsoft PowerPoint presentations can be used for training on the EK Standard Ledger. They are released as both a PPT file, so that you can use them for your own presentations, as well as a PDF for easier printing and handouts. There is also a link for the sample ledger used within the training

Creating a compressed file

For assistance in compressing files in Windows, you can read the following article: How To Compress and Uncompress Files (zip files). In addition to the methods mentioned in that article, you can also alt-click on the file you wish to compress, and choose Send To: Compressed (zipped) Folder. You can use this as a starting point to add additional files (see article above).

This is just one method. Third-party utilities are available for compressing files in .zip or .rar format, and may be required if you are using an operating system other than Windows.

Additional Downloads

Open OfficeOpen Office is an open source application suite which contains a word processor, spreadsheet application, and presentation program, among others. There are downloads for both Windows and Mac, and Open Office also has the ability to open/save Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files. It may be downloaded from their download page.

Powerpoint: If you do not have Microsoft Powerpoint installed on your computer, Microsoft has released a free viewer that may be downloaded from their site. This viewer works on Windows 98 and up (instructions included), and will allow you to view Powerpoint files from versions 97 and later.

Excel: If you do not have Microsoft Excel installed on your computer, Microsoft has released a free viewer that may be downloaded from their site. This viewer works on Windows 2000 and later, and will allow you to view Excel files from versions 97 and later. Since you may not make changes to the file, but only view and print them, this viewer is more useful for other members who want to review the documents.
